JESS M. COLLEN
Mr.
Collen is a founding member of the firm and serves as the head
of the firm’s active litigation practice.
His expertise in the field of trademark law has long been
recognized. He has served on the Executive Committee and Board
of Directors of the International Trademark Association.
He has frequently lectured on Intellectual Property Law issues
before international forums, and has published several
articles involving various subject matters within his
expertise.

His areas of practice include Trademark, Copyright and Unfair
Competition law, Federal Court litigation, and actions before
the United States Trademark Office. His areas of experience in
Intellectual Property Law include anti- counterfeiting, Patent
litigation, licensing, false advertising and
misrepresentation, and Licensing, along with
software and other related matters.
Included among Mr. Collen’s clients are the leaders in the
Swiss watchmaking industry, a major Japanese consumer
electronics manufacturer, a venerable French fashion house,
and diverse US and non- US multinational technology, software,
and industrial companies.
He has frequently lectured on Intellectual Property Law issues both in the USA and abroad. Mr. Collen is a regularly sought after
speaker and panelist for continuing legal education programs which teach other lawyers new and recent developments in Intellectual
Property law. He has published many articles involving various subject matters within his expertise, including a recent
publication in California bar journal on the topic of trademarks in Second Life and other Virtual Worlds..
His pro bono work includes the American Eagle Foundation, the
German American Steuben Parade, PATH Public Advocates Together
for Health, and the United States Navy League.
Among his other actives, Jess is the co-founder of Life Project for Africa, a NY based not-for-profit which has been supporting
medical facilities, water development and education in Tanzania and east Africa (www.lifeprojectafrica.org)
Mr. Collen was educated at Western New England College School
of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor, and Boston
College, where he received his Bachelor of Arts and graduated
Magna Cum Laude.
